Welcome to the PinePoints Competition 2012 (Stay tuned for new format)
The PinePoints Competition is a season long race for the PinePoints Trophy. 
This competition will somewhat parallel the PGA's FedEx Cup witout the Playoff aspect. In the 2011 season there will be a change in the format as compared to the 2010 season. I realize you can't please everyone in the group with different formats, but at least everyone will have a chance to compete against their buddies and that is the point of this competition!
- Earn PinePoints for best round of the weekend for 9 designated weekends
- Your best 6 weekend PinePoints will count towards the 2011 PinePoints Trophy
- No Playoffs
Why the change in format?
Since many of our group members have a variety of time restrictions for play on the weekends this format will hopefully allow everyone to at least post 6 weekend point totals. Time restriction examples may include work schedules, holidays, injuries, weddings, funerals, special functions, etc. Playoffs would not be flexible or fair given this format. This format should prove to be an exciting event as many players will hopefully have a chance to win even up to the last scheduled weekend! It also makes the PinePoints Pool interesting down to the last weekend of the competetion. Remember that no competions are "cast in stone"... let's give this format a whirl and re-evaluate after season's end.

• May 7-8, 21-22
• June 11-12, 25-26
• July 9-10, 23-24
• August 13-14, 20-21
• September 17-18
The competition format?
The 2011 PinePoints Competition consists of 9 weekends from the beginning of May to the middle of September. Your best 6 weekend point totals will count. The top 20 net scores each round will be awarded PinePoints (shown in PinePoints Distribution table below). A participant may have less than 6 point totals and still be eligiable to win the PinePoint Trophy. All putts must be holed out! All participants will hand in a net scorecard to Jim Tibbs at the end of their round on the day of the competition. If the player is playing from the Black Tees they will be allowed to add 1 to their handicap.
Example: Player has a 10 handicap
Blue Tees: 10
Black Tees: 11
Choice of tees is up to the individual competitor.

Policy for Inclement Weather
• If the on the day of a PinePoints round less than 2/3 of the players that are booked do not play the round will not count.
• If one day of the weekend is inclement the other day will still count for best round of the weekend.
• If both days in a weekend are inclement that weekend will be scratched. Competition will become best 6 out of 8 weekends.
• If 2 weekends are scratched the competition will be best 5 of 7 weekends.
