2010 Ridger Cup Opening Ceremonies... and the tradition continues!

Resplendent in red and bodacious in black, the Canadian and European teams readied themselves for the 17th annual Ridger Cup. And it just might have been the perfect opening: drinks were drunk; bread was broken; speeches were sparse; graphics were grabbing; ProV1s were proffered; draws were drawn and strategies were revealed. A big bouquet has to go to captains Rick and Karl for their diligence in matching players.

The only refrain this reporter overheard during the draw was: How many strokes do they get? But we all know besides bragging rights, this is about camaraderie and a great tradition unique to the best golf club in Manitoba -- no, make that Canada.

I just want to end by saying best of luck to both teams, keep it in the fairway and the operative words for 2010 are fun and sportsmanship. I would also be remiss to close without echoing those immortal words of David Letterman: Remember, no wagering! Hit em straight and let the games begin.
